General Nursing and Midwifery ( GNM )

Duration:
3 years (including internship)

Eligibility Criteria:
10+2 passed in Science/Arts/Commerce streams from a recognized board.
Must have at least 40-45% marks (varies by institution).
Age: Minimum 17 years and maximum 35 years (relaxation for reserved categories as per norms).
Must be medically fit.

Course Objective:
To prepare students to become skilled general nurses who can provide quality care to patients in hospitals and community settings under the supervision of qualified nurses and doctors.

Fundamentals of Nursing

Community Health Nursing – I
Health Education & Communication

Year 2:
Medical-Surgical Nursing – I & II
Pharmacology
Communicable Diseases
Orthopedic Nursing
Mental Health Nursing
Pediatric Nursing

Year 3:
Midwifery & Gynaecological Nursing
Community Health Nursing – II
Administration and Ward Management
Internship (Integrated Practice)

Clinical Training Includes:
Hospital duties under supervision
Community health postings
Rotational internships in:
Medical-Surgical Wards
Pediatrics
Psychiatric units
Maternity and Labour rooms
Community health centers
