Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology (DOT)** is a paramedical program that trains students in the field of eye care and vision testing. The course prepares students to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye-related disorders. Students are trained in using optical instruments, conducting vision tests, handling surgical equipment, and managing eye care clinics.
Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum Qualification: 10+2 (PUC) passed with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
Minimum Marks: Typically 40% to 50% in aggregate (may vary by institution).
Some colleges may have age limits and conduct interviews or basic entrance tests.
Course Duration:
2 Years full-time program
May include 6 months to 1 year of clinical internship/practical training
